To make a report, you must call the Transmission and Distribution Utility (TDU) that takes care of the wires and poles in your neighborhood. If you don’t know, you can find this information on your utility bill or check this map.

Dos and Don’ts, what to do with power outages
Do:
- Unplug appliances. When power starts again, this will help prevent your electrical circuits from being overloaded.
- Report the outage. Don’t assume that your neighbor has done this already. Your TDU must be made aware of the situation.
- Keep a sharp eye on pets and children. They are unable to spot storm dangers such as downed lines.
- Be patient. It is frustrating to be without power, especially when your food may spoil or the weather is hot. Workers will restore power as fast as possible. What equipment was affected by the storm determines whose power is restored first.
- Avoid standing water near anything electrical. Wait until everything is completely dry before going near appliances, and even then, exercise caution.
- Know how to operate your garage door manually. Your garage door won’t open independently without power, potentially leaving you stranded.
Don’t:
- Go near any cables or lines. Assume everything is energized, maintain a safe distance, and let emergency crews take care of the situation.
- Clean your property immediately. Although your yard may be full of downed tree limbs, you don’t know if there are any wires or cables underneath.
