On the free energy plans, the portion of the day or days that the energy is NOT FREE can be as expensive as 22 cents per kWh<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Electricity has become a very important part of our lives. That\u2019s why we are always looking for the best and lowest prices for our home electricity. Therefore, we don\u2019t even think about it when a salesperson offers us \u201cFree Electricity\u201d.<\/p>\n

What Is Good About Free Electricity Plans?<\/h3>\n

Many Electricity Companies offer Free Night or Free Weekends energy plans. Which is a good deal if you do most of your things at night or on the weekends.<\/p>\n

Free Nights energy plan is good for some that are out of their home all day and don\u2019t return until around 9 pm. If you have someone at home around 5 or 6 pm then this energy plan will be a total disaster for you.<\/p>\n

The free weekend is good if you are home on the weekends doing chores, spending time with the family at home. Or if you want to have a party (every weekend). And it reduces your electricity cost depending on how much electricity you use during the day or week.<\/p>\n

I think very few things in life are free, electricity is not one of them, the cost to generate and deliver the energy is very high, even if it comes from natural resources like wind or solar. The infrastructure to produce this energy is extremely expensive and not easy to come by in most of our cities.<\/p>\n

The free energy plans come with a hook, the energy companies may say; \u201cYes, we\u2019ll give you free power from 9 PM to 6 AM\u2026\u201d however, most of this time you are sleeping. What they don\u2019t tell you is that your rate will be over 17 cents kWh throughout the rest of the day. In average, the peak time for energy consumption is at 7 AM and 5 PM. I could say that from 7-8 AM and from 6-9 pm we use about 90% of our electricity.<\/p>\n

So, if you have a \u201cfree energy plan\u201d most likely you are paying, with the high rate during peak time, in advance for what they say that you are getting for free. If you have \u201cfree weekends plan\u201d and you are not washing\/drying clothes, cooking, etc. you are completely wasting your money.<\/p>\n

Most of the weekends I\u2019m out and about with my family, we stop washing\/drying clothes by 9 PM school days.<\/p>\n

Cheap Electricity in Texas starts with ourselves, not with a free energy plan.<\/span><\/h3>\n
