The air conditioning helps control the humidity of the house. Excess moisture in the home can cause serious health problems and home deterioration and repairs are very costly.<\/p>\n<p>Wanting to save a few dollars by turning off the air conditioning, there is a better way to give a vacation to our energy while we&#8217;re on vacation, but it can cost us more than what we spent on the vacation itself. Imagine replacing 3 or 4 walls of your home just because we turned off the air conditioner for a few days. Pets and plants are very sensitive to temperatures, mostly at high temperatures.<\/p>\n<p><strong>When you ask us, what is the recommendation when going out on vacation, we answer: &#8220;give a vacation to your energy the following way &#8230;&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Close the curtains tightly so that no radiation of the sun enter<\/li>\n<li>Identify air leaks and cover them<\/li>\n<li>Install a programmable thermostat (if possible)<\/li>\n<li>Check the weather forecast and see if you can leave the A\/C off.<\/li>\n<li>Leave the refrigerator as empty as possible<\/li>\n<li>Disconnect any appliance that is not needed<\/li>\n<li>Set the water heater to &#8220;away&#8221; or &#8220;vacation&#8221;.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What we want to do is that only the air conditioning and the refrigerator are in operation. Give vacation to the electricity but not to 100%. Now, it is not necessary that the air conditioner is at a very low temperature to avoid mold and moisture, having the A \/ C at about 80 &#8216;- 90&#8217; Fahrenheit will be sufficient.
