Also, we are about to hit spring break. With that said, some of you will be out having a relaxed and deserved time away from home. We can give a little time off to our thermostat so the A\/C and heating system stop running. Still, there are some precautions if you are going to turn off your thermostat.   4. Set the water heater thermostat to \u201cvacation\u201d or \u201caway\u201d mode<\/li>\n
  5. Make sure there are no water leaks, especially the hot taps<\/li>\n
  6. Unplug all electronic devices and appliances<\/li>\n
  7. Try to run out of food from the fridge<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    These are just a few suggestions on what to do to save energy while you are on vacation.<\/p>\n

    5. Shorten your showers<\/li>\n
    6. Cookout more often<\/li>\n
    7. Do your laundry at night<\/li>\n
    8. Keep blankets close to you in case it\u2019s too cold at night<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
