This is what could happen if you wait longer to connect your residential electricity service
Residential electricity is a necessary asset and every time we depend more on it, in this blog I will explain what can happen if you do not change or choose your residential electricity provider at the right time.
There are two cases in which we require electricity for our home, I will briefly explain the two situations; when we change to a new residence (new service) or when we want to change the electricity supplier (change of electricity company).

This is when we move to a new residence and we can have 2 situations; whether the meter is already energized or not.
When the meter is not energized or is not even installed there is much to do, and the recommendation is to act quickly, you must follow the regulations of the utility, the company that delivers electricity in your home. First, permits and inspections are required. The company that sells kilowatts cannot help you with this, only the one who will use the electricity can solve this.
If the meter is installed and is energized, then a “new service” order is required. Here we can fall into a situation in which the house or home already has electricity, but we do not know what company or whose name the electricity is.
Do not wait for the energy to disconnect itself, do not wait for a receipt, do not wait any longer to connect residential electricity, and ask for new electricity service in your name immediately since it is not known if the last resident has any debt with the previous energy company or not. Suppose that there is previous debt, most likely there is a restriction or lock on the meter.
It is not difficult to remove that restriction, but time and effort are needed, to verify and send documents that stipulate that you are a new resident to that address, resolving this situation may take two or three days. Do not wait any longer to connect residential electricity.
